Madisynn turned 19 months old yesterday!!! She is growing so fast, and not just physically! Her words are amazing and saying 3 word sentences, she can understand anything you say or ask of her. Go get a spoon, go get a bib, she helps unload the dishwasher and puts things in the right places. She knows all body parts from toes to fingers, elbows and knees, legs and arms, and all facial parts. She knows any animal sound you can think of. She makes a fishy face for fishes and snorts for pigs. She LOVES to undress herself and it is now unusual to find her clothed. I put her jacket on her today, and zipped it up and went to the bathroom. As I step out of the bathroom she hands me her jacket. I was shocked. She has now changed the tone of words too when she asks a question. She can now do any kind of matching game and has excelled at puzzles. She is trying to sing her ABC's and she can count with her fingers. She did just over come her first cold in 8 months. It only lasted a couple days and with a fever that lasted a straight 24 hours. I had the same thing last week, and now Derek has it. It is an easy cold, but I am glad she is all done with that.

When I went to download her 19 month pictures, I found these on there. Yes, she has learned how to turn the camera on and take pictures. It got a laugh out of me :)

Tomorrow we will be 18 weeks! The other day I could feel the baby so much, and it did its first stretch where I could feel it on both sides of my tummy! I love it! Only one more week till we find out the gender, so if you haven't put in your guess yet, I hope you will do so! Its on the right of the blog page.

We have two more ounces! Your "getting bigger-n-better by the minute baby" is already up to 7 ounces and 6 inches! This is a big week for their baby skin. There are now two distinct layers—the epidermis (or the surface skin) and dermis. Currently, their skin is covered with a greasy, waxy, cheese-like substance, known as vernix caseosa. Sure, it sounds pretty nasty, but this mixture of fatty secretions covering your little swimmer from head to toe is the best way to protect their oh-so-thin skin from bruising and abrasions as well as chapping caused by amniotic fluid exposure (and your little one is swimming in that stuff!). Still don’t like the fact your little darling is currently slathered in fatty cream like a greased pig? Well, you know the birthing process? Where you have to push something the size of a watermelon out a hole the size of a grape? That adorable little greased piglet would have a lot harder time getting through the birth canal without the vernix caseosa. Fun fact for momma’s with baby girls: it’s a uterus within a uterus! Your little girl will have developed a uterus and vagina canal by the end of this week.

Madisynn is such a smart little girl, and so adorable, as always! It looks like you might have a photographer in the making! =)
