We are having to make a couple big decisions right now. We are wanting to move!!! Well we have decided to put in for a base of preference. We give them a list of 8 bases that we want to go to, and they try to place us there. You can only use it once in your career and we figure now would be the best time. Derek emailed his supervisor to see if these bases looked like good choices and the response back that we got was not good. Turns out Little Rock manning is too low to support a base of preference AND that he is vulnerable for a remote (1 year by himself) Derek is the only Tech Sgt in his whole squadron and there are supposed to be 7. SO, Derek still wants to put in for it on the 15th just to see what happens. If it doesn't go threw we still have a chance to apply for a special duty if any come up, BUT if none come up by January he may be volunteering to go to Korea. If he doesn't then next September he is 100% sure that he will be going to Iraq or afghanistan for UP TO a year. So we want to get out of here before next September. Better for him to go to Korea for a year and be safe and we can visit him, rather than going somewhere that is not safe. Plus, it will get us out of Arkansas. Plenty of time to sell the house and I can move home for a little while. Derek is very torn, as he does not want to leave the kids for that long. So please pray that a good special duty comes up or that they approve our BOP for some reason!!!
Tomorrow we hit our 7 year wedding anniversary!! Hard to believe all that we have done the past 7 years. Wow, has our life changed. Such an amazing journey we have been on together, and cant wait to see what the next 70 years brings us!!
Braylon loves playing with his toys. He is always grabbing for them and has realized when he does it makes the music play.
