Yesterday we had Madisynn's 18 months appt. The base only does well visits very early in the morning, SO we had to be there by 7:55am. I have not gotten up that early since I have been pregnant, and I now know why I am not working while pregnant with this one. I ended up throwing up again. I have gone a week with out being nauseas, but I guess waking up extra early did it for me! So then off to the appt and Madisynn is doing great! She is in the 95% for height, 50-75% for weight and 60% for her head. Their requirements are that they say atleast 7-10 words, um yeah she knows over 50! Be able to use a cup and spoon, been doing that since she was 9 months. Point to body parts, DONE. Stack blocks of 3-4, she can do 10. In the next couple of months start to combine words, she already does. She can say Thank you, Hi Dad, Hi mom, No more monkeys. And by age 2 start helping with dressing, undressing and washing hands. DONE! I am sure their requirements are very minimal, but it still helps us feel like our child is above average :)
So then it was on to the lab to get her iron checked. Stupid person missed Madisynn's vein and went digging for it!! Madisynn was so upset, Derek and I were both trying to hold her down. Finally she gave up and did a finger stick, which took forever and I got a call an hour later that they couldn't even use it and we have to go back for another blood draw!! HORRIBLE! She has to go get immunizations on the 17th, so I guess I will get her stuck again! She is already traumitzed, and shows us her "boo, boo". My poor baby!!
MORE decorating!! I made sugar cookies with Madisynn today. She of course loved the eating part more then decorating, but she still had a lot of fun! Anything to keep her busy!
Cutting the shapes

Such a good helper!

Decorating so well!

She just LOVES frosting! She made an even bigger mess this time!

Madisynn with the finished product

So we are not that artistic, but hey, we had fun!

What a little smarty! she is so cute!
As a blood drawer myself, I know it sucks, but some kids have the tiniest veins. Make sure you get her super hydrated when you take her in so that isn't an excuse when they miss. I've had to stick a few kids more than once and it makes me feel like shit when that happens. Hope round two goes better.
By the way... I want one of those cookies right now.
Wow she did great with the cookies! Cooper is nowhere near ready to try that! Must be the boy v. girl thing! LOL
Poor baby!!! and Way to go for doing all that... Mimi also does all that except that she is tiny, but oh well.. LOL
